Terms and conditions

The Stoppelveldrit is organised by Lionsclub Raalte, Kanaalstraat OZ 27, 8102 GG Raalte, the Netherlands. Where the text below says “we”, “us” or “the organisation”, it means that club.

Payment currently runs through the Lions Club’s existing payment environment rather than through a payment account of the Stoppelveldrit itself. Your bank statement may therefore show a name other than “Stoppelveldrit”. The money is transferred on to the ride and the good cause afterwards.

You register through this website. Your registration is complete once the payment has gone through. You then receive a confirmation email — that is your ticket. Bring it along, on paper or on your phone.

Taking part costs € 10 per rider, the same for all three distances. While registering you can also donate an amount to the good cause. Donating is voluntary: leave the field empty and you pay the entry fee only.

Also:

• •One registration covers one distance. If you are riding different distances, register separately for each distance.
• •You enter the name of every rider. Those names are the participant list we use to tick people off at the start.
• •The € 10 covers taking part and the route. Anything you eat or drink along the way or at the finish is at your own expense.
• •You can also register on the day itself at the start, for the same € 10.

Because the Stoppelveldrit is a leisure activity that takes place on a specific date, the statutory right to withdraw within 14 days does not apply (art. 6:230p sub e of the Dutch Civil Code). Your registration is therefore final. Unable to ride? Your ticket can be transferred to another cyclist.

You arrange the transfer yourself: pass your confirmation email on to whoever rides in your place. Let us know beforehand through our contact address and we will put the right name on the participant list. That can also be done at the start.

The Stoppelveldrit goes ahead in almost any weather. Rain or wind is not a reason for us to cancel. Judge for yourself whether you want to and can ride safely in the conditions of the day; nothing obliges you to.

If we cancel the ride — because of severe weather, a government measure or other force majeure — you get your entry fee back. Any extra donation you made still goes to the good cause; that is what it was for. If you would like your donation back as well, let us know and we will arrange it.

If we move the ride to another date, your ticket is valid on that new date. If you cannot make it then, you get your entry fee back.

In all other cases we do not refund the entry fee. If you are unable to ride, pass your ticket on to another cyclist.

From the age of 16 you ride on your own. If you are younger, you ride accompanied by an adult. That adult handles the registration and is responsible for supervision during the ride.

The routes run over paved roads and are suitable for any bicycle. E-bikes are welcome.

The 45 and 60 km routes are marked with arrows; the GPX file is there as a backup. The 100 km route is not marked — you ride it using GPX or Komoot. Anyone choosing 100 km confirms that separately while registering, apart from these terms.

The ride uses ordinary public roads. Nothing is closed off, other traffic carries on as usual and the traffic rules apply in full. This is a tour, not a race: there is no timing and no result list.

We may refuse someone entry if that is necessary for their own safety or that of others. We only do so if there is really no alternative.

The Stoppelveldrit is a tour, not a race. Participants take part at their own risk and are at all times themselves responsible for obeying the traffic rules and for their own safety and that of others.

The organisation is not liable for damage, loss or injury, except in the case of intent or conscious recklessness on the part of the organisation.

The arrow marking is an aid, not a guarantee: arrows can be missing, turned around or removed. Participants must pay attention themselves and follow the route with GPX where necessary.

Make sure your bicycle is in good order and that you are insured as you would be on any other ride. We do not take out accident or liability insurance for participants.

On the day, the PR committee of Lionsclub Raalte takes photographs and sometimes video. We use them for the report on the ride and on the club’s Facebook and Instagram pages, and to get cyclists out again next year.

We take and use images with respect for the people in them. We do not publish anything we can imagine someone being uncomfortable with.

Would you rather not be recognisable in a photo? Say so at the start to a volunteer or to the photographer and we will take that into account. If you end up in a picture anyway and want it taken down, send us a message at our contact address. We will remove it — you do not have to give a reason.

We use your data to carry out your registration and to tick you off at the start. What exactly we keep, for how long, and what your rights are is set out in the privacy statement.

Note: ticking “I agree to the terms and conditions” while registering is acceptance of these terms. It is not consent within the meaning of data protection law — we do not ask for consent, and we do not need it for your registration.

Dutch law applies to these terms.

If you have a complaint, please put it to us first through our contact address. We respond within fourteen days. Most things are settled with a single phone call.

If we cannot resolve it together, you can bring the dispute before the competent court. As a consumer you can in any case go to the court of your own place of residence. We bring a dispute before the Rechtbank Overijssel. We deliberately do not prescribe a fixed court here: an organiser is not allowed to impose that choice on a consumer.

These terms apply to the edition of Sunday 23 August 2026. If we change them, the version that applies to your registration is the one that was on this page at the moment you registered.
